New Zealand Geophysical Society (Inc)
This months image - shows the recently established limits of the New Zealand Extended Continental Shelf. These limits are the result of 10 years of submission preparation, extensive marine surveys, and two years of discussions at the UN in New York. The ultimately successful c. 35% increase in New Zealand's established sovereign area relied heavily on geophysical data and models of New Zealand crustal structure.
